Today I learned that “spocking money” is a thing in Canada. Apparently people keep drawing on $5 bills to make the former Prime Minister depicted on the bill to look like Mr. Spock from Star Trek. While not considered illegal, its frowned upon by the nation bank and might cause issues with acceptance of the bill.

I came across this on Mastodon due to a boost of a Toot by “Meanwhile in Canada”. Apparently the majority of this happened in 2015 after the death of actor Leonard Nimoy.
